In a dramatic turn of events, the Sekondi High Court has granted the motion to vacate the interlocutory injunction that had earlier barred Joana Gyan Cudjoe from contesting the 2024 parliamentary elections for Amenfi Central. The court’s ruling clears the way for the popular National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate to run as the party’s official Parliamentary Candidate in the upcoming elections.
The court ruling marks a significant victory for Joana Gyan Cudjoe, who had been embroiled in a legal battle over her eligibility. With the injunction now lifted, she has been officially declared the winner of the court case and will represent the NDC as their candidate in the highly anticipated 2024 general elections.
In a statement following the court’s decision, Hon. Peter Amponsah, Deputy Constituency Secretary for NDC, Amenfi Central, expressed his satisfaction with the outcome, highlighting the party’s readiness to move forward with its campaign.
“This is a monumental victory for Joana Gyan Cudjoe, the NDC, and the people of Amenfi Central. With this ruling, we are more determined than ever to continue our efforts for the betterment of the constituency,” Hon. Amponsah stated.
Joana Gyan Cudjoe’s legal victory comes as a relief to her supporters, who have long rallied behind her candidacy. The NDC now looks forward to a strong showing in Amenfi Central as the 2024 elections draw closer.
