The 29th Congregation of the University of Education, Winneba, officially commenced on December 17th, 2024, marking a week-long celebration of academic achievement, resilience, and ambition. The ceremony, held in the university’s main auditorium; Jophus Anamuah Conference Centre, will run until December 21st, with each session honouring graduating students across various faculties.
In his inspiring address, the Chancellor of UEW; Neenyi Ghartey VII. urged the graduates to embrace lifelong learning as a fundamental tool for personal and professional growth. He encouraged them to seek out mentors and role models to guide their career journeys, emphasizing that success is often shaped by the influence of those who have walked the path before them.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Steven Jobson Mitchual, reinforced this message, calling on graduates to persevere through challenges and continually aspire to be the best version of themselves. “Your journey doesn’t end here,” he said, “It’s a new chapter to explore your full potential and make impactful contributions to society.”
The opening day saw a vibrant turnout, with proud parents, guardians, and loved ones filling the venue to celebrate the achievements of the graduates. The atmosphere was electric, blending joy, pride, and hope for the future. The event was not just a ceremony but a memorable occasion etched into the hearts of all who attended.
Radio Windy Bay, the university’s campus station, added a personal touch to the celebration by interviewing some of the first-class graduates. These outstanding students attributed their success to unwavering determination and relentless hard work. “The journey wasn’t easy,” one graduate shared, “but setting clear goals and staying focused made all the difference.”
As the congregation continues, there’s growing anticipation that the upcoming sessions will be even more vibrant and engaging, leaving a lasting impression on the graduates and their supporters. With each passing day, the event promises to highlight not just academic excellence but also the inspiring stories of resilience and ambition that define the UEW spirit.
This congregation is more than a celebration of academic milestones—it’s a call to action for graduates to take charge of their futures, embrace opportunities, and contribute meaningfully to the world.
