In a stunning development, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has taken bold actions in Amenfi Central. They’ve suspended four key party officials and called on the area’s Member of Parliament to face scrutiny.
According to a statement dated June 6, 2024, and signed by party General Secretary Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, the NDC suspended the Constituency Chairman, Women’s Organizer, Deputy Organizer, and the Organizer. The suspended officials include Mr. Raphael Andoh Kwaw (Chairman), Mr. Richmond Aleke (Organizer), Madam Grace Kwaw (Women’s Organizer), and Madam Janet Fynn (Deputy Women’s Organizer).
These suspensions were decided during a Functional Executive Committee (FEC) meeting on June 5, 2024, citing alleged anti-party activities. The suspensions take immediate effect and will last for at least six months, pending further investigation.
Furthermore, the sitting MP for Amenfi Central, Hon. Peter Yaw Kwakye Ackah, has been summoned to appear before the Party’s Political Committee for questioning.
Amidst the turmoil, Mrs. Joana Gyan has been appointed as the Chairperson of former President John Dramani Mahama’s campaign team in the Constituency, signaling a shift in political strategy.

If everything was rightfully done, there wouldn’t have been any form of suspension which has now led to further investigations but if there be foul play after investigations have been conducted then their 6 months suspension would serve as a deterrence to others.
