The West African Gas Pipeline Company Limited (WAPCo) has announced a significant reduction in gas volumes for transportation due to maintenance work by a Nigerian gas producer. This development affects gas supplies to customers in Togo, Benin, and Ghana.

In a press release dated June 12, WAPCo’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Isaac Adjei Doku, explained that one of the company’s Nigerian gas suppliers has shut down its facility for a three-week maintenance period, leading to the current drop in available gas. Despite this setback, WAPCo continues to transport gas from Ghana’s Western Region to Tema.

“This situation is entirely beyond WAPCo’s control,” the release stated. “We anticipate a return to normal operations following the completion of the maintenance activities.”
