Kwahu Pepease, Kwahu East District – A storm is brewing in Kwahu Pepease as the Santase Royal family pushes forward with plans to install a new chief, defying the town’s traditional kingmakers and igniting fears of imminent conflict.
The turmoil erupted after the conviction of Nana Bonsu Ayiripe Ababio, the current Pepeasehene and Kwawu Kyidomhene, which left a leadership void. The Santase Royal family is determined to fill this void, but their unilateral decision has not been sanctioned by the kingmakers of Kwahu Pepease.

In a tense press conference, Nana Ofori Sasu II, the Banmuhene of Pepease, vehemently opposed the installation. He declared that the kingmakers are ready to defend their palace against any attempts by the Santase Royal family, even if it means a violent showdown.

The kingmakers have urgently called for intervention from security agencies to halt the scheduled installation. They have petitioned the Inspector General of Police and other security authorities to intervene, warning of the dire consequences if the event proceeds.

Adom News reports an atmosphere of fear and uncertainty gripping the community as they brace for a possible clash, with the stability of Kwahu Pepease hanging in the balance.
