University of Ghana Political Science lecturer, Prof. Ransford Gyampo, revealed that he never attended Junior High School (JHS). His excellent performance in Class 6 led to a direct promotion to Secondary School, Form 1.

“My results from Class 6 to JHS 1 were very good,” Prof. Gyampo shared in an interview on Joy Learning’s Career Trail program. His teacher, Mr. Sam Gilbert from Calvary International School, recognized his potential and moved him directly to Secondary School, Form 1, bypassing JHS.

In 1988, Prof. Gyampo started at Osu Salem Secondary School. Due to his small stature, he faced bullying from older students. “I was the tiniest and very young. They were always beating and bullying me,” he recalled.

He also struggled to understand the lessons initially, feeling too young to grasp the material. However, he persisted in his studies.

In 1989, he transferred to West Africa Secondary School to continue his education.
