Professor Ransford Gyampo of the University of Ghana has praised Alan Kyerematen’s Great Transformational Plan (GTP), stating it has reshaped his expectations for the upcoming 2024 elections. Speaking on TV3’s KeyPoints on Saturday, June 29, 2024, Prof. Gyampo expressed eagerness to see what other parties will offer in response to the comprehensive nature of Kyerematen’s plan.

He criticized the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for delaying their campaign launches, suggesting they fear their ideas will be copied. Prof. Gyampo urged both parties to respect voters and release their manifestos well in advance, emphasizing that Ghanaians are discerning enough to distinguish between original and copied ideas.

Expressing disappointment with the parties’ delay in presenting their policy blueprints just five months before the elections, Prof. Gyampo called for a return to earlier practices where manifestos were released earlier in the electoral cycle. He urged political leaders to take the electorate seriously and provide clear policy directions promptly.
