Justin Frimpong Kodua, General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), announced that the party’s flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, is prepared to debate former President John Mahama. Kodua believes this debate will help Ghanaians make informed choices ahead of the December general elections.

Speaking on JoyNews’ Pulse on July 2, Kodua said, “Bawumia is ready for Mahama, and it will be a good opportunity for Ghanaians to listen to both leaders and make informed decisions. I can assure you Bawumia will outperform Mahama.”

Despite polls indicating Mahama’s strong chances, Kodua emphasized that the final decision will be made by voters on December 7. He noted that Mahama had a head start since his nomination in May, but since Bawumia’s nomination in November, he has also been actively engaging with Ghanaians. Kodua added that recent surveys show Mahama’s support declining.
