Tamale Central MP, Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, has called for Lands Minister Samuel Abu Jinapor to address Parliament regarding allegations of widespread sale of state lands in Tamale and other regions.

Mohammed claims lands allocated to Tamale West Hospital have been sold and are under rapid development. He also alleges that bungalows and other prison service properties in his constituency have been sold off, displacing prison officers.

During a parliamentary session, Mohammed stressed the urgency of these allegations and demanded the minister’s explanation, comparing the land distribution to “koose” or roasted groundnuts. He highlighted the impact on Tamale’s growing population and the disruption to prison officers forced to find new accommodations.
