Legal practitioner Martin Luther Kpebu is calling for the dismissal of Attorney-General Godfred Yeboah Dame and Supreme Court judge Justice Emmanuel Yonny Kulendi due to their involvement in the ongoing ambulance procurement trial. Kpebu argues that the Attorney-General’s attempt to influence a witness to falsify testimony against Minority Leader Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson is shameful for the state and warrants punishment.

Richard Jakpa, the third accused, revealed in court that the Attorney-General pressured him to change his testimony to secure Dr. Ato Forson’s imprisonment. Evidence including audio recordings and WhatsApp messages, admitted by the court, implicates Supreme Court Justice Kulendi in facilitating meetings between the Attorney-General and Jakpa, who is his cousin.

Speaking on TV3 on Saturday, June 22, 2024, Kpebu emphasized that such conduct tarnishes Ghana’s reputation and demands accountability. He criticized the lack of action against the implicated officials, suggesting that retaining them suggests acceptance of prosecutorial misconduct in Ghana’s judicial process.

Kpebu insisted that these revelations should lead to the dismissal of Attorney-General Dame and the resignation of Justice Kulendi to uphold the integrity of Ghana’s legal system.
