John Mahama, the flag bearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has reaffirmed his commitment to building a better Ghana, inspired by the passion and enthusiasm of its people for change. On his journey to Wa on Thursday, June 13, 2024, Mahama was particularly moved by the dedication of local craftsmen and the youth, emphasizing the need for prioritizing technical and vocational education.

In a Facebook post following his trip, the former President pledged to implement a scheme to support master craftsmen and women, train apprentices, and provide funds and start-up equipment for artisans. He noted that the determination of these young men to excel in their trades reinforced his commitment to transformative policies aimed at uplifting every Ghanaian.

Mahama’s post highlighted his interactions with hardworking artisans between Sawla and Wa, praising their use of “appropriate technology” and their relentless dedication. He stressed that the enthusiasm for political change and the energy of the youth provided him with a renewed sense of purpose and determination to lead Ghana to new heights.

“Together, we will build the Ghana we want and move on to progress and prosperity,” Mahama declared, underlining his vision for a prosperous future driven by the skills and passion of the nation’s youth.
