Parts of Accra experienced severe flooding after heavy rains on Wednesday, July 3, 2024. The downpour caused major traffic disruptions on key routes, including from the Airport through Shangri-La to Shiashie, leading to significant congestion.

Other affected areas include Tantra Hill, Adabraka Sahara, the Ofankor-Pokuase stretch, the Accra-Tema motorway, and Kaneshie First Light. The floodwaters made roads impassable, heavily impacting road users and businesses.

Many commuters parked their cars to wait for the rain to subside, while others cautiously drove through the flooded streets. Several shops closed, and some vehicle owners parked to avoid engine damage.

Commuters and residents are calling for immediate assistance from the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO). Social media is buzzing with photos and videos of the flooding, shared by affected netizens.
