Lady Dentaa Amoateng MBE, CEO of GUBA Enterprise, disclosed that Ghana is not among the initial countries signing up for the Grammy Africa model during an interview with Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM. She clarified that while Ghanaian artists can still be nominated, the country will not host Grammy events due to unmet requirements with the Recording Academy. Amoateng expressed optimism that Ghana, alongside Ivory Coast, could join as founding members pending fulfillment of necessary conditions.

The Recording Academy, organizers of the Grammy Awards, announced plans to establish an African version of the awards to boost music recognition and economic opportunities across the continent. This initiative involves partnerships with ministries and stakeholders in Africa and the Middle East to promote music creators and cultural exchange, aligning with the Academy’s global expansion strategy.
