Elton John, aged 77, has affirmed his decision to retire from touring during an interview with Entertainment Tonight on Thursday, June 27. When asked if he plans to tour again, John firmly responded with a “no.” His husband, David Furnish, 61, added that they want to prioritize their sons, Zachary (13) and Elijah (11), during their formative teenage years.

John expressed satisfaction with concluding his touring career with the Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour’s final show in Stockholm in July 2023. He described the experience as a “magical” and “wonderful” end to his extensive career spanning 52 years of music.

Despite ruling out future tours, John hinted at possible “one-off” performances down the road, emphasizing his current focus on appreciating family life. John and Furnish, who married in 2014, expressed joy at completing their family after welcoming their second son, Elijah, in 2013 via surrogate.

The couple, together since 1993 and in a civil partnership since 2005, celebrated their relationship milestones publicly, with Furnish recently honouring John on his 77th birthday for his role as a loving father, dedicated artist, humanitarian, and loyal partner.
