Alexander Kwamina Afenyo-Markin, Majority Leader and MP for Effutu, has urged his fellow caucus members to be cautious with their public statements, emphasizing unity and respect. This call comes as elections approach and follows a statement by Asante Akyem North MP Andy Kwame Appiah-Kubi. Appiah-Kubi expressed that, while Energy Minister Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh is qualified, he is not his preferred choice for Vice Presidential candidate.

Afenyo-Markin stressed the importance of respecting party decisions and maintaining a united front. He reminded members to trust the party’s leadership and avoid negative comments that could harm their image. The NPP flag bearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has reportedly proposed Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh as his running mate to President Akufo-Addo.
