Dr. Kojo Essiem Mensah-Abrampa, former Director General of the National Development Planning Commission (NDPC), has died at the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital on Monday, July 1, 2024. He was rushed to the hospital after a suspected heart attack and was pronounced dead on arrival.

Dr. Mensah-Abrampa, a renowned development planner and economist with 28 years of experience, was widely respected in his field. He had a significant impact on Ghana’s development agenda through his leadership at the NDPC and his work with international organizations like the United Nations Development Programme and the World Bank.

His death has sparked tributes from various sectors, reflecting his influence in government, academia, and the development community.
