Ten months after the controversial death of singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, known as Mohbad, justice is still being sought. Mohbad, 27, died on September 12, 2023. Conflicting reports have left the cause of his death unclear.

In a recent development, a court has granted Mohbad’s family permission for a second autopsy. The family was dissatisfied with the initial autopsy conducted by Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) after his body was exhumed on September 21, 2023. Released on June 7, the initial autopsy results were inconclusive due to body decomposition and possible medication reactions.

The family rejected these findings and urged the Lagos State Government to verify the autopsy’s authenticity. They appealed for an independent toxicology report to be included before the final report is submitted to authorities.

During a court hearing in Ikorodu, the family was granted permission for a second autopsy. At a press conference, Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, expressed gratitude for the court’s decision and emphasized the need to determine the true cause of his son’s death.

Family representative Grace Shorinde stated that the results of the second autopsy are expected by August 7, emphasizing the urgency of the situation.
