A violent robbery in Assin Fosu, Central Region, has left 41-year-old Cocoa District Officer Lucas Osei, known locally as D.O., critically injured. The attack occurred on June 27, 2024, at around 2 a.m. in New Habitat, a suburb of Assin Fosu.

Four masked robbers armed with machetes and scissors broke into Osei’s home, stealing GH¢100,000, two laptops, and two mobile phones. Osei was severely injured in the attack and was found by eyewitnesses in a pool of blood. He was rushed to St. Francis Xavier Hospital for treatment.

A police team led by Superintendent Kwabena Darkoh responded quickly, but the robbers had already fled. The police recovered the machete and scissors used in the attack as evidence.
