Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has revealed his favourite musicians, showcasing a blend of Ghanaian and Nigerian artists. In an exclusive interview with Michael Oti Adjei, Head of Sports at Media General, Addo shared that Shatta Wale, despite the language barrier, stands out due to his captivating use of the Ga language.

Addo’s list of favourite Ghanaian musicians includes Shatta Wale, Kwesi Arthur, Sarkodie, and Black Sherif. He also expressed admiration for Nigerian artists Mr. Eazi and Buju BNXN.

During an interview with 3Sports, Addo emphasized his love for music, stating, “I also love to listen to music, for sure.” When asked about his favourites, he mentioned, “Even though I don’t speak Ga, I love to hear Ga. So, I love Shatta Wale, especially when he talks and speaks in Ga. Surely, Kwesi Arthur, Sarkodie – great lyrics, Black Sherif, Mr. Eazi – I love him, and also from Nigeria, BNXN Buju.”

Currently, Otto Addo is enjoying a successful return to the Black Stars. Since resuming his role in March 2024, he has led the team to two wins, one loss, and one draw in his first four games. Under his guidance, the Black Stars are tied with Comoros for the top spot in their group for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, each with nine points.
