Asantehene Urges Government Support for Ghana Publishing Company Revival

The Ghana Publishing Company Limited, once thriving, has faced years of inactivity due to financial challenges. Efforts are currently underway to restore its operations to previous levels of success.

Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has called on the government to allocate more resources towards revitalizing the Ghana Publishing Company Limited. During a meeting with board members at the Manhyia palace, Otumfuo emphasized the company’s crucial role in preserving cultural heritage and boosting economic growth.

Otumfuo urged policymakers to implement supportive measures aimed at improving the company’s efficiency and ensuring its long-term sustainability. He emphasized the importance of government support through deliberate policies and financial allocations to aid the company’s development.

David Asante, Managing Director of the Ghana Publishing Company Limited, highlighted plans to modernize operations by introducing electronic gazettes and establishing regional branches to enhance service delivery.

Additionally, the company has opened an office in the Ashanti Region to bolster its operational capabilities. As a gesture of support, the company also donated GHC100,000 to the Asantehene for the Heal Komfo Anokye project.
